Effective October 12, 2009, NewStream is now a DEP-permitted Massachusetts Class B(3) Recycling Facility. This new permit allows NewStream to receive SUOF (Massachusetts Waste Code MA97) from off-site sources throughout the northeast - in bulk, tote or drum - and sell (or otherwise transfer) recycled SUOF  to other marketers and those who are authorized to burn waste oil in their facilities or in fossil fuel utilization facilities.

During this meeting the Department I. clarified the regulatory status of petroleum-impacted groundwater, and II. explained the new UST inspection program that was transferred from the Dept. of Fire Services to the DEP in July 2009.
